Squalene is found in the unsaponifiable portion of the olive oil and some other vegetable oils. When Squalene enters into our body, it is processed into the form in which it can be used – Squalane, as much as the body needs.

Squalene is a lipid produced by our skin cells. Unfortunately, its quantity decreases with age, so it is best to obtain it externally and apply it to the skin. It balances sebum production and provides moisture. It is easily absorbed and improves the condition of the skin at cellular level. It helps prevent sun damage and the effects of free radicals that prematurely age the skin. Squalene is an excellent moisturizer that increases hydration and has an anti-inflammatory effect – it can relieve conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.

We have put squalene into our products Olive Oil with Squalene, Glowing Face Serum and Revitalizing Face Serum.

Mafleur olive oil is deacidified – it oxidizes much harder and slower. All the non-fatty (unsaponifiable part) part that contains squalene, phytosterols, lecithin, vit. E and other substances – including those that color the skin, has been removed. To the deacidified olive oil we have added the previously removed non-fatty part, but now purified from the coarse particles and “colorants”. Furthermore, we have added it in double amount that is usually contained in some virgin qualities. This makes the Olive oil with Squalene twice as active as standard olive oils.

The squalene incorporated in the two face serums spreads beautifully on the skin of the face, creates a silky feel and is non-greasy. Its vegetable origin makes it an ideal natural substitute for synthetic silicones. It forms a natural protective film on the skin that does not oxidize and that helps the active ingredients penetrate faster. Phyto-squalene reduces moisture loss, does not irritate and is completely safe, as it is identical to the skin’s hydro-lipid barrier.
